How to Convert HEIC to JPG on iPhone

Your iPhone shoots HEIC by default. Half the internet still expects JPG. That mismatch shows up as rejected uploads, blank previews on Windows, and "unsupported file type" errors in forms that worked fine last year. Converting is the fix, and you do not need a computer to do it.

What you'll need

Just the photos and a converter app on the phone itself. Web converters exist, but they mean uploading your pictures to someone's server and waiting on your connection. On-device conversion is faster for batches and keeps the photos private.

Converting with HEIC,JPEG,PDF Media Converter

  1. Open the app and tap the input area to select photos. Pick one, several, or a whole album.
  2. Choose JPEG as the output format.
  3. Set the quality slider. Higher quality means bigger files; the app shows an estimated size per photo so you can decide before converting. Around 90% is visually indistinguishable from the original for most photos.
  4. Pick a destination — Photos, Files, a Google Drive folder, or keep the copies in the app.
  5. Tap Convert. Done. Your originals stay untouched; the JPGs are new files.

Three details worth knowing

When you have hundreds to convert

One-at-a-time selection stops making sense past a dozen photos. The app can select entire albums, scan your library for every HEIC it contains, or take a date range — then convert the lot in one run. That workflow has its own guide below.
